Why NNL Club Managers Propose 8 Clubs Promotion To NPFL----- Olisa Onuchukwu By Niyi Busari The National Coordinator Nigeria National League Club Owner Association, Mr Olisa Onuchukwu has stated that intrigues and tension generated from the erstwhile Premier League clubs who are now campaigning in lower league and stand a chance of promoting to the elite league is responsible for proposing promotion of eight NNL clubs to the NPFL, BSN Sports reports. In a statement made available to BSNSports.com.ng the club managers added that the relegated teams also pressurised the body not to be demoted to the lower league. While the likely eight promoted clubs in the NNL clamoured for promotion to the NPFL without playing the Super 8 league, other relegated teams also demanded to remain in the NNL at least for next season. Owing to the above, the NNL Club Managers appealed to the LMC to adopt eight teams to be part of the 2018/19 NPFL season while there will be no team demoted to the NLO. "Some erstwhile Premier League clubs that are not in the NNL and stand a chance of promoting to the elite league used all the resources within their reach to push for the promotion of the 8 clubs to the 2018/19 NPFL season." "Also, those affected clubs in the relegation position are not ready to be demoted, therefore clamouring for staying put in the NNL at least for the next season." The statement read in parts.
