Why Sponsors Run Away From Nigerian Sports ...... Amos Adamu By Niyi Busari Former Director General of National Sports Commission, Dr Amos Adamu has revealed that lack of sponsorship culture in Nigerian private companies is one of the reasons responsible for the sports federations inability to secure a laudable sponsorship deal, BSN Sports reports. Amos Adamu who spoke with www.bsnsports.com.ng in Abuja advised that the federations should also be transparent on how the sponsorship funds are being spent. He however, admitted that high level of secrecy federations applied by sheilding the sponsorship details away from the public also discouraged private sector from sponsoring sports. Recently, many sports federations have to go extra mile in ensuring that they seal sponsorship deals while others raised fund among board to run the Federations.
