Why Unregistered Edo State is on Medals Table ...... Demola Are Explains By Niyi Busari Director of Grassroots Sports Development, Dr. Demola Are has stated why one of the five states that did not register for the 2018 National Youth Games was listed on the final medals table. Are stated this while speaking exclusively with www.bsnsports.com.ng at the Maracana stadium University of Ilorin after the closing ceremony of the 4th National Youth Games. He stated that though some of the five unregistered states were sponsored by individuals and registered with different sports federations without passing through the Delegation Registration Meeting (DRM) with the ministry of sports. However, Edo state having done the DRM with the sports ministry during the competition is permitted to participate and listed on the medals table. "Edo state we told you that they were illegally given medals which was withdrawn but they did the needful by formally register with the ministry of sports. The authority in the state wrote letter to the ministry confirming their participation in the 4th national youth games. "So, when they did that, we reinstate their medals won back to them and allowed to be listed on the final medals table."
