Why We Have 200 Players in U20 Camp..... Aigbogun
Flying Eagles head coach, Paul Aigbogun has stated unequivocally why over 200 players were invited into the national U20 team in Abuja.
Former Enyimba FC coach while speaking exclusively to www.bsnsports.com.ng said the open camp is aimed at given opportunities to other young good players across the country to challenge the players that were used to execute the African U20 Nations Cup qualifier.
"We have over 200 players in camp, this is to give opportunity to the newly invited players to challenge those that have already made the team." Aigbogun said.
Aigbogun admitted that it is difficult to select the best among the available players especially when almost all of them are good. However, he posited that irrespective of where a player comes from, once he is better than the rest, he will definitely make the team.
"Our major challenge here is to select the best among the available players. What we can assure Nigerians is that the best will be give call ups and any exceptional players will be included irrespective of their background."
He stated further that the team will have a 6-day break after the screening process going on at the Package B of National Stadium, Abuja.
"We will have a break of 6 days after which the camp will re-open for the final preparation of the African Nation Cup finals.
