Chairman of the Nigeria National League NNL board, Chidi Offor Okenwa has explained reasons why only FIFA badges referees are handling the Super Eight (8) playoff holding at Enyimba Stadium in Aba.

"It shows the high premium we place on the tournament", Okenwa told www.bsnsports.com.ng.

"These are teams that will expectedly hoist our (NNL) flag in the Nigeria Professional Football League next season and deserves to acquaint themselves with the modern dynamics of the game.

"And so far, I must say we are proud of their performances".

The NFF board member and Enugu State FA chairman spoke glowingly of the brilliant performances of the players on the pitch and the excellent state of the Enyimba Stadium pitch.

"It is the pride of players. A symbolic relationship for players to have and play on good pitch which gives players room for self expression on the field".

A visibly delighted Okenwa heaped praises on Abia State Executive governor, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, for the provision of the stadium which he said could pass as one of the best in the country.

"I must give kudos to the governor for this wonderful stadium.

"I can only plead for such stadium to be constructed in all three senatorial zones of the state", he said while also expressing gratitude to President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin-Pinnick, for making the NNL super Eight tournament possible.
