Wikki Tourists Return To Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Ahead Sunshine Stars NPFL Clash
By Admin
Wikki Tourists will on Sunday play their first match against Sunshine Stars at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium after its completion. Wikki have been using Pantami Stadium as their home venue since renovation of the stadium commenced.
Abubakar Tafawa Balewa stadium is a household name for staunch followers of Nigerian football and it got announced to the whole world at large as it was announced as one of the venues for the U-17 world cup in 2007. The stadium hosted the match between Nigeria and Argentina with an attendance of 11,467 spectators recorded.
Few years after the successful hosting of the cadet football tournament, the team representing Bauchi state where this stadium is located in the NPFL, Wikki Tourist have been playing their home matches away from home because of the pitiable condition of this famous stadium that was inspected and approved by FIFA to have met the required standard.
The good news is that after two years, Wikki will return from the Patanmi stadium, Gombe after the successful completion of the renovation process and the major concern is when will we stop using huge amounts to renovate things we could use a little amount to maintain.
The matchday 14 of the 2019/20 NPFL between Wikki Tourists and Sunshine today will be the first match on the pitch after its completion.
