Women Afrobasketball: Nigeria Were The Better Side - Senegal's Coach
Sampson Adedeji
After suffering a defeat to Nigeria's D'Tigress, head coach of the Senegalese basketball team Moustapha Gaye has admitted that Nigerians were the better side, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Nigeria side on Friday defeated Senegal 73-63 in the semi-final of the ongoing Women Afrobasketball in Yaounde, Cameroon.
Gaye said the Nigeria team was much better and stronger on the day while he also praised his players for a good job.
“I was disappointed to have lost this match. Like any competitor, we wanted to have a better match, a better performance, but we didn't have the means to win today. Nigeria was better and deserves their victory.
I admit that I don't have much to reproach my players for giving everything they had. But the reality of the day is Nigeria was stronger," he said.
D'Tigress who is still the defending champion will face Mali in the final of the competition on Sunday.
