Women Amateur League begins in Benin City Feb. 4

The Nigeria Women Amateur League has been scheduled to kick-off from Tuesday, February 04 to Sunday, February 09, 2020.

An official statement issued by the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, indicates that the league will hold as a zonal championship in the Edo state capital, Benin City.

According to the programme of event, arrival, draw and pre-match meeting will take place on Tuesday, while competition proper kicks off the following day, Wednesday through Sunday at 2pm each day.

The teams due to partake in the 6-day football showpiece are; Ubakala Queens FC of Umuahia, Niger Ratel FC of Makurdi, Kwara Ladies FC of llorin, Omidiran Babes FC of Osogbo and Moje Queens FC (Erin ile).

Two topmost teams at the end of the competition will gain promotion to the NWFL second tier league - pro-league.

Further successes will see the teams play in the elite and prime league - Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL).

NWFL Board member, Mr. Joe Amene, is the General Coordinator of the Women Amateur League Zonal Championship.
