Ahead of the second group game against Mamelodi Sundown ladies, manager of Rivers Angels, Edwin Okon has promised the fans of the club a better performance, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
The Nigeria side put up an abysmal performance against ASFAR FC in the first game and lost 3-0 to the absolute surprise of the team supporters.
Sundown ladies in its first game defeated Vihiga Queens of Kenya by a lone goal and will be willing to secure a semi-final spot at the expense of Rivers Angels.
During a press conference, Okon attributed the defeat of the first game to fatigue and said the team has rested well ahead of the next match.
"For now all is well with the team, we've rested enough and also had our first official training yesterday.
"We will try to correct the lapses we had in our first game & ensure we give our fans back home a better performance tomorrow," he said.
For Rivers Angels to progress, today's encounter against the South African side is a must win for the Nigerian champions.
