Women's AfroBasket: Ivory Coast Wallops Guinea To Set Up Quarter-final Clash With Nigeria By Our Reporter Ivory Coast women’s Basketball team edged out Guinea on Wednesday afternoon to set a quarter final clash with heavyweights, D’Tigress of Nigeria in the ongoing Afrobasket Championship in Yaounde Cameroon. Djefarima Diawarra led the Ivorians with 23 points and 6 rebounds, as they beat Guinea 81-50. Ivory Coast had to qualify for the quarter finals through the Play-offs, after finishing below the automatic qualification spot. D’Tigress who are on a 19 game winning streak in the continent, face a mid-table team in Cote d’Ivoire who over the years have become regular participants at FIBA Women’s AfroBasket although they are yet to win a major trophy on the continent.
