NIGERIANS CLAMOUR FOR OKOCHA EAGLES RETURN Akeem Busari Following the unimpressive performance of the Super Eagles in recent games and particularly, at the ongoing world cup championship in Russia, soccer loving Nigerians are set to storm Aso Rock in protest over the shambolic display of the team and to clamour for the return of mercurial midfielder, Austin Jay- Jay Okocha. The Super Eagles lost its opening game in the mundial to Croatia 0-2. And football fans have described the display as the worst by the team in recent times. According to a disgruntled fan, " I am greatly disappointed by the way the boys played. The team lacks creativity, cohesion and determination. That's why we need experienced players like Okocha to return to the team" he posited. Chinedu Nnamani, another obviously angry football enthusiast, lamented the dearth of quality and skilful players in the team, hence the planned protest for Aso Rock. " We are going to the presidency to protest against the lackadaisical display of this team. They are not playing the Nigerian way. And we believe a player like Okocha can help salvage the situation and restore our soccer pride" he added.
