World Cup Qualifier: "We Will Stand Strong Against Nigeria" - Butler Boasts
Sampson Adedeji
Ahead of the match-day One of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Nigeria's Super Eagles head coach of Lone Star of Liberia Peter Butler has started talking tough, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Liberia will be the guest of Nigeria in the opening opening group game slated for Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos on the 3rd of September.
While speaking ahead of the match, Butler recognized how good Nigeria players are and also believe they are better funded than his team.
"We are in a difficult group, Nigeria has good players and they are well-funded." Butler said.
"We will work with what we have at our disposal, Nigeria, the Central African Republic, and Cape Verde may be better funded than ourselves.
"Since I came here, our player's identity has changed and we have more young, vibrant, and energetic players especially in the midfield.
They might be muscled by better and established players but with a good plan, I know we can secure positive results going forward," he said
Liberia will host CAR in the second group game in Moronvia.
