Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, has expressed his excitement over his recall to the Super Eagles after being left out due to injury and drop in form, BSNsports.com.ng can report
Akpeyi has been part of the Super Eagles since the coming of coach Gernot Rohr and also part of the team to Russia 2018 World cup.
He was in goal throughout the team campaign in the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt except for the third game against Madagascar.
The former Warri Wolves shot-stopper was among the three goalkeepers invited for the qualifying games against Liberia and Cape Verde.
"It’s a great feeling for me I always appreciate the moments when I get called up. It’s a huge privilege not everyone gets to have this opportunity in their careers.
“So far, I’m always grateful any time I am called up I’m grateful to the Coaches and grateful to whoever made it possible for me to be here.
“Kudos to Rohr he actually has young goalkeepers,. But I think he has capable hands, who if given the chance they can do their jobs excellently well," he said.
