World Cup Qualifying Round: Huge wins for North Macedonia and Croatia, Wales held

North Macedonia picked their third victory in the ongoing World Cup qualifier following a 4-0 victory over Liechteinstein on Friday in Group J. 

Darko Velkovski opened the scoring for the visitors just before half time before Ezgjan Alioski made it 2-0 from the spot in the 66th minute. In the 74th Boban Nikolo added the third before Darko Churlinov made it 4-0 after just nine minutes. 

In the other matches of Group J, Iceland settled for a 1-1 draw with Armenia while Germany survived a scare, coming from behind to beat Romania 2-1. 

Germany are now at the top of the group with 18 points, six above second-placed and third-placed North Macedonia and Armenia respectively. 

Group E 

Czech Republic held Wales to a 2-2 draw while Estonia beat Belarusia 2-0.
