World Cup Red Card: Kaita Apologises To Nigerians
By Sampson Adedeji
Ten years after receiving a marching order at the FIFA World cup, midfielder Sani Kaita has tendered unreserved apology to Nigerians.
Kaita was sent off in a crunchy 2010 second group match against Greece which actually cost Nigeria's Super Eagles A defeat.
The send off turned the player to a villain in Nigeria Football history because Nigeria was unable to make it out of the group.
Kaita apologised to Nigeria during a chat with Brila radio monitored by BSN.
“When you make a mistake it is only natural to ask for forgiveness and apologize; it’s a normal thing,’ said Kaita.
“Mistakes however are a normal thing and in the national team you just wish it doesn’t happen again, but this is football, it is inevitable," he said.
Kaita who was part of Nigeria's Dream Team to 2008 Olympic in Beijing, China made 23 caps for Super Eagles.
