World Table Tennis Championship: Aruna Quadri Bows Out
By Sampson Adedeji
The hope of Nigeria table tennis sensation, Aruna Quadri, to emerge victorious in the ongoing World Table Tennis (WTT) has become an illusion, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Quadri defeated Japan's Masataka Morizonohe on Tuesday and qualified for the round of 16 of the tournament currently taking place in Doha, Qatar.
He remained the only hope of Africa in the tournament after Egyptian Yasser crashed out also on the same day.
But it was a day to forget for Aruna as he lost to another Japanese table tennis player, Tomokazu Harimoto in a straight set.
The 48th world ranked player thrashed Aruna, 11-4, 13-4, 11-7 (3-0) to end his hope of progressing in the tournament.
