Igali promises to sponsor youth tournament in May

The president of Nigeria wrestling federation Daniel Igali has promised to bankroll the youth competition in the South South in May this year.

Nigeria wrestlers under Igali has a memorable 2019 winning medals both in the continent and intercontinental competitions, BSN Reports.

He made the disclosure while talking about the plans of the federation for 2020, he furher confirmed that the tournament will be tagged Daniel Igali South South Cadet/Junior wrestling championship.

“I will be sponsoring a competition for cadets and youths in the South-South in May. This tournament will give the younger athletes a platform to showcase their talent and also expose them to competition early. We also hope to discover talents who will go ahead to replace the aging ones in future during this competition.”

Igali confirmed that Nigeria will take part in this year is Matteo Pellicone Senior Ranking Series from 15th to 18th January in Rome, Italy, as its first tournament in 2020.
