WTT: Aruna Quadri Beat Japanese Opponent, Qualiifed For Last 16

  By Sampson Adedeji Nigeria Table Tennis star Aruna Quadri continued his impressive performance at the ongoing World Table Tennis (WTT) Star Contender taking place in Doha, Qatar, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Aruna was drawn bye to the second round following his quarterfinal finish at the first leg of WTT Contender. Nigeria international defeated Japan’s Masataka Morizonohe 3-1 ( 11-6, 11-9, 1-11, 11-7) to advance to the next round. The victory means, Aruna will face another Japanese player Tomokazu Harimoto in the last 16 of the competition. Meanwhile, It was a tough one for 6-time African Champ, Dina Meshref, who fell to Chinese Taipei’s Szu-Yu Chen 3-1(19-17,4-11,9-11, 9-11) while Ahmed Saleh also failed to progress after losing 3-0 (11-8, 11-5, 11-2) to WTT Contender Series champ Dimitrij Ovtcharov of Germany.
