Zone 2&3 African Women Handball: Nigeria to Arrive Cote d'Ivoire on Monday.... NHF Sec. Gen.

By Niyi Busari Basic Sports in Nigeria, BSN Sports can authoritatively report that the talents discovered at the 2017 National Youth Games in Ilorin in women handball game has been invited into national U-18 Handball camp in Abuja by the Nigeria Handball Federation (NHF). The selected players will represent Nigeria at the U-18 Zone 2&3 handball tournament organised by the Federation of African Handball. The U-18 African Women's Handball is scheduled to commence from 25th-31st August 2018 in Côte d'Ivoire. The Nigerian national handball team who is currently camped at the Package B of the Abuja National stadium is expected the leave the shore of the country on Monday, 20th August 2018. Speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng, the General Secretary of the NHF, Mr Muhammed Haruna Maigidasanma assured Nigerians that he is confident that the girls will borrow a leaf from their not their male counterparts who has just emerged the champions of Africa in the male categories. "Their male counterparts won the cadet continental trophy last week in Kigali. The male U-18 national handball male team beat Guinea while the junior team defeated Congo in two different finals to emerge champions." "So, next year, the Federation of African Handball will focus on women cadet/junior competitions." "I am sure they will do well and will not disappoint Nigeria. We should expect nothing but the trophy," he concluded.
