Zoomax Invitational Tourney: Abees Academy Outscore TBC FC To Set Up FC Digital Foot Final

Abees Academy came from a 2-0 down to beat TBC FC 3-2 in the second Semifinal of the ongoing Zoomax 8-Team Invitational Tournament, BSNSports com.ng reports.
The final which hold on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the Area 3 Field, Garki, Abuja is expected to be a tough one between Abees Academy and FC Digital Foot who defeated Waco Academy.
On their road to the final, FC Digital Foot maintained their 100% performance as they defeated Waco Academy 2-0 in the first semi-final played on Friday.
Babayaro Matthew scored a quick goal on the 2nd minute to rattle the Waco boys before Amarachi Ekelemhen doubled the score in the 20th minute.
The victory ensured that the FC Digital Foot have remained unbeaten in four matches in the tournament. A record they would hold in high against their opponents.
However, they will have a hard nut to crack in the final as ABEES Football Academy have shown their pedigree as contenders for the coveted trophy.
Abees defeated bookmakers tournament favorite, TBC FC 3-2 in the second semi-final clash at the Area 3 field.
The victory came as a surprise to many who saw TBC FC as the potential opponents for FC Digital Foot considering that both won their group games undefeated.
Although the TBC FC boys were cruising to victory after 2-0 up, courtesy of Al-Mustapha Ibrahim’s 26th minute strike and Osinachi Okoro’s 47th minute goal, the ABEES lads rallied from the jaws of defeat to emerge winners on the great occasion.
A brace from Goodness Sunday in the 54th and 71st minutes rattled the TBC FC boys and when they were hoping for a penalty shout-out, the unthinkable happened.
Philip Ejike, who had been a thorn in the flesh of the TBC FC boys scored a spectacular goal in the 89th minute to send his mates and supporters to wide jubilation. The goal came too late for any onslaught from the TBC FC boys who came into the semis undefeated.
The final of the one-week tournament will be played at the Area 3 field on Sunday at 3:30pm.
