In the tournament curtain raiser held at Old Parade Ground, Abees FC pipped FC International 1-0. Damilola Majero's three minutes strike separated both sides despite their efforts to find the back of the net failed in the remaining 87 minutes. FC Digital walloped Casmat FC 3-1 as Wisdom Ikuesan fastest goal in the competition counted for nothing. Ikuesan, in the early seconds of the match wasted no time in converting the half chance to give Casmat FC the lead but that was not enough to send fears into the spine of Casmat players. Isaiah Monday, Amarachi Ekelemhen and Jacob Iyua all scored one goal each for Digital FC in the 51st, 58th and 72nd minutes to earn a deserved win. TBC FC also defeated Waco Academy 3-1 as Karu FA and Garki FC ended in a 2-1 win for the former. Sam Agu scored a brace in the 44 and 47 minutes before Rilwanu Ibrahim reduced the tally for Garki FC in the 53rd minute. Action continue today (match-day 2) as FC Digital face FC International at 12 noon while Casmat FC take on Abees FA. Waco Academy will look forward to having their first win when they take on Garki FC as Karu FA and TBC FC settle scores at Old Parade.
