Shocker! FIFA WW/Cup: Norway Star, Ballon D’or Winner, Hederberg Quits
By Sampson Adedeji
The camp of Nigeria’s Super Falcons opponent Norway has been thrown into turmoil following the withdrawal of the team key player Ada Hederberg.
Hederberg current holder of the women Balloon D’or has walked out of the since 2017 after accusing her country of a lack of respect towards female footballers
Since then efforts have been made to bring the 23-year-old back into the fold, but Norway coach Martin Sjogren claims Hegerberg’s stance has not changed.
Hegerberg, who won the Ballon d’Or at a ceremony last December, stopped playing for her country months before an equal pay agreement between the Norwegian Football Association and the Norway’s players’ association came to pass.
Norway are in the same group with Nigeria, France and Korea Republic.
