Ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifier, Togo Football Federation (TFF) has announced the appointment of new head coach for the Hawks, reports.

French man Claude Le Roy left the team in March 2021 after they failed to qualify for the 2021 African Cup Of Nations slated for Cameroon.

The football body on Monday announced the appointment of Portuguese Paul Duarte.

Duarte first came to Africa in 2007 when he handled Burkina Faso and stayed with them till 2012. He then joined Gabon in 2013 before returning to Burkina Faso in 2017.

He will resume in August but Jonas Kokou Komla will lead the Hawks next month against Senegal and Namibia for the first two days of qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.

Duarte will officially start in September at the time of their match day 3 and 4 double header against Congo.
