Why Nigeria Football Bigwigs Plan To Assassinate Me – Jalla
By Niyi Busari
President, National Association of Nigerian Footballers, NANF, Harrison Jalla has cried out, alleging that plans have been concluded by some Nigeria football bigwigs to assassinate him.
According to him, his offense was his failure to withdraw and drop the complaints he wrote to anti-graft agencies to recover several billion of naira and millions of US dollars allegedly stolen from Nigerian football treasury.
Jalla confirmed to www.bsnsports.com.ng that he indeed lodged complaints at Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Independent Corrupt Practice Commission, ICPC, FIFA and CAF.
He claimed that since then, he has been approached and pressured by prominent Nigerians pleading that he should withdraw and drop the complaints against a prominent Nigeria football administrator from his own ethnic group. But when he refused to withdraw the complaints, he said he was reliably informed that hired assassins have been allegedly paid to track and eliminate him in a manner that will look like armed robbery attack.
“This is to inform Nigerians especially the football fraternity that there are alleged plans to assassinate me by our Football bigwigs.” Jalla said.
“From my intelligence gathering, I understand my offence is, refusal to withdraw and drop the complaints I instituted in my official capacity as President of the National Association of Nigeria Footballers (NANF) to recover several Billions of Naira and millions of United States Dollars allegedly stolen from our football treasury. I indeed instituted and lodged Complaints with the EFCC, ICPC, and FIFA.
“Since then, I have been approached and pressured by prominent Nigerians at the instance of one of our football bigwigs from same ethic nationality with me to withdraw and drop my complaints. Some of these pressures came with subtle threats. Further information at my disposal is that hired assassins have been allegedly paid partly to track and eliminate me in a manner that will look like armed robbery attack.
“I have received strange calls recently and have noticed unusual movements by some strange and unknown faces around my main gate. Even though am unruffled with these developments for the records have already briefed my lawyers to incident my observation with the office of the Inspector General of Police and all relevant authorities.” Harrison Jalla concluded.
