Why NNL Will Not Resume Match 14

By Niyi Busari

The 2019/20 Nigeria National League which went on Yuletide break in December may not resume this Saturday March 14th as scheduled, BSNSports.com.ng understands.

BSN Sports gathered that if the league must kick off on Saturday, the management of the league must give at least 10-day notice to all clubs to prepare their teams ahead of the resumption date.

In addition to that, all clubs in the league must also meet to deliberate on the chosen date before the resumption.

However, till this moment none of these have happened which confirmed that the Nigeria second tier league may not resume this weekend.

The league is on hold due to lack of funds and sponsorship and have suffered lack of activity since the NNL management depend on Nigeria Football Federation fund to continue the league.

An insider hinted that the league may stop abruptly adding that management may announce that two top teams from each group be selected for Super 8.

According to the source, four top teams from the playoff will gain promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
