The unified heavyweight champion of the world Anthony Joshua will today (Saturday) 22nd September face the danger man of the heavyweight division Alexander Povetkin in his 22nd fight.
In his last fight, beating former WBO world champion Joseph Parker by using his jab to keep the shorter fighter out of race is one of the greatest achievement by Anthony Joshua.
On Saturday evening, Povetkin will be on a disadvantage side as evidence suggests that he always struggle against taller fighters. As mentioned by Peter Fury in an interview, David Price (a taller opponent) almost beat him.
On Friday in England, Anthony wrote on his official Twitter handle expressed confidence that he is going to defeat Povetkin as he described him as ‘weak opponent’. Though, AJ respects him and expects a good fight from the heavyweight opponent as the win will not come from a platter of gold.
“Some act tough but are weak! Respect to Povetkin! Looking forward to a good fight.”
According to many boxing pundits, if Anthony Joshua comes to fight then there is high possibility of him knocking Povetkin out in the middle rounds.
Weighing in at 17st 8lb and 5 ounces compared to Povetkin 15st 12 lbs, will Anthony Joshua be too big for Povetkin?
Returning to Wembley, this is going to be massive.
