Zamalek Are CAF Confederation Cup Champions

Zamalek of Egypt were on Sunday emerged the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup champions after they defeated their Moroccan counterparts, RSB Berkane 5-3.

The second leg final was decided by penalty shoot out as regulation time scores ended 1-0 in favour of the host, Zamalek.

Zamalek came into the game with a 0-1 deficit having lost the first leg in Morocco. The Egyptian giants converted from the spot in the 54th minute after VAR confirmed the penalty to level the scores.

Meanwhile, RSB Berkane on 19th May won the first leg 1-0 at home before losing 1-0 on Sunday to drag the game into penalty shoot out.

Omar Namsaour, RSB Berkane player was sent off in the 90th to reduce the visitors to 10 men.

Zamalek won the title via penalty shoot out. Zamalek converted 5 penalties while RSB Berkane lost their first penalty during the face off as Zamalek converted all their five penalties to end the game 5-3.
